Daily Life of Ancient China:
Routines – Cities were surrounded by walls made of compacted dirt. At night the gates to the city were closed and no one was allowed in or out of the city after the gates were closed. They then opened in the morning, for people to get items from other cities and do other various tasks throughout the day.
Daily Life – In ancient China daily life was not that much different from modern China, in terms of the daily struggle to earn money to feed and look after your family, morning and afternoon rush and the need for survival. Usually people started the day by going to various jobs or to school at around 7 am – 4 pm. They had a six day week but had longer holidays/breaks.
